Commercial maps of Mackinac Island are rather rare, so when this map came out in 2008, I snatched up a copy right away. While it was nice in that it showed the Island, St. Ignace and Mackinaw City, the quality of both the source data and the cartographic presentation left a lot to be desired. Streets that aren't there are included, streets that are there are left off, wrong street names, misplaced points of interest and a cartographic style that just isn't appealing to the eye make me wonder if this map is worth five bucks. The photo on the cover is nice, though...
I love maps, but this one is useless. It does not include much of anything of use, despite the cover promoting 'Points of Interest, Parks, Hospitals, Schools' etc. It shows a few of the 'major' roads on the island and that's it. It has better detail of St. Ignace and Mackinaw City than the island. Save your money and download a free map off the Mackinac Island Tourism Bureau's website.
