I really enjoyed this Regency romance of identical twin girls separated as babies while in an orphanage. One gets adopted to a titled family, while the other grows up in poverty. When they meet by chance a whole series of interesting events unfold. The characters were both appealing and endearing and the plot kept me turning the pages. My only disappointment was the lack of steamy content which I have come to expect and look forward to in today’s historical romances. However, even without that, this was a book I would recommend. I am eager to read the Fairfax twins book 2.
Very enjoyable story as well as somewhat informative regarding children of orphanage the main character starts life as an orphan with no idea who her family are until she meets Emily , she now knows she has a twin but she is stilled puzzled how Emily is a lady while she now works for bookstore the orphanage sent her to. So go on a small journey and find the answers
I enjoyed this book for the most part. But it became too unrealistic when the twins first met and when their "father" first saw them together. Both of these encounters would have been extremely shocking and would have taken much more time and thought to adjust to. Their plan the first night when they switched places was fraught with problems. Emily and Mary would never have thought that was a good plan.
Interesting plot with good characters, who are honorable. The twins find each other. Emily who was adopted suggests changing places with Ava who grew up in the orphanage. Emily wants Ava to dissuade Emily's betrothed.
I really enjoyed this story. It moved along at a decent clip and the characters were likable. The ending was nice though not completely realistic in how many great coincidences happened for everything to fall into place. But that's the way I like my fiction! This was my first Claudia Stone book and I plan to read the next in the series when it's available.
This was a fun story to read. It is very far fetched. The twins to being sisters a little too quickly. There could have been a lot more added to this part. Also, I agree with the other reviewer that the father took in the twin a little too easily and quickly. But, it was a fun story to read. I am looking forward to reading about the sister.
Switching places, living someone else's life. Falling in love! It can't get better than that. Or can it?I started reading this book and couldn't put it down!
What a BEAUTIFUL storyline and REMARKABLE people involved! I really enjoyed this story and how powerful people loved and did what they could to make them happy! Enjoy this as much as I did!
